For a new day of events, Her Royal Highness attended the Women's Forum closing session roundtable meeting.

The Forum set out to reflect on some of the global challenges still faced by women across the Commonwealth. The discussion topic during Her Royal Highness’s roundtable was ‘An improved response to domestic abuse by employers.’

Since 2009, The Duchess has been dedicating her work to raising awareness of the issues facing those affected by sexual violence and domestic abuse.

During a speech today HRH said:

Today's a new day for Their Royal Highnesses for their second official day in Aussie following the opening of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall began their day by meeting with the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Queensland’s Head of State The Governor of Queensland His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC is the 26th Governor of Queensland and Mrs de Jersey and dog Gave at the Governor's official residence.

After which they went on tour of the Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village accompanied by Australian's Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Lucy Turnbull. On this tour was a visit to the Prosthetics Workshop, which hosts a team of experts, incorporating orthotics and prosthetics professions, wheelchair technicians and welders who support these athletes.

The Gold Coast games has the largest integrated para-sports programme of any major sporting event, with up to 300 para athletes competing in 38 medal events across seven sports and The Village is hosts to 6,600 athletes and officials providing them with residential, retail, recreation, dining and medical facilities during the Games.

During their visit, they met with athletes in the Games Room, tested out the table tennis, kit and then attended a Prosthetics workshop to meet technicians and para-athletes.

After they visited Broadbeach on the Gold Coast to meet and greet members of the public and find out more about some of the community projects in the area.

During this visit, The Prince of Wales unveiled a plaque on the Commonwealth Walkway. The 10km walkway is the first of its kind outside the UK & starts at the Southport Chambers & finishes at the City of Gold Coast Council Chambers

They then met with Robina High School students who were being awarded for outstanding contribution to marine conservation with the presentation of surfboards and are involved in the Sport 2 Clean programme, a non-profit organisation that promotes sports, especially aquatic sports, as well as the conservation and sustainable use of oceans. According to the The programme works with four schools in the Gold Coast area, encouraging students to learn how to surf or paddleboard, while also teaching about the environment and how to ensure it remains healthy and sustainable.

The Prince and Duchess later viewed a Nippers (young life savers) demonstration and beach rescue skills from the Surf Life Saving Queensland organisation, which encompasses lifesaving services, community education, membership services, surf sports, fundraising and commercial training.

Later in the evening, Her Royal Highness attended the track cycling events and presented medals for the Men's 1000m Time Trial Para-Sport Tandem and Women's Team Pursuit race events. The Anna Meares Velodrome is Queensland’s first indoor velodrome and houses an international competition standard 250 metre timber cycling track, with its facilities catering for a range of cyclists and a number of indoor court sports.

Earlier Today(Aussie Time), Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Australia to represent Her Majesty the Queen during the at the opening of the XXI Commonwealth Games, reading out Her Majesty's customary message, which calls on athletes to come together in the spirit of friendly competition and a few days of engagements on tour of the country down-under

According to Australia TV Channel 9 news, Their Royal Highnesses arrived a couple of days ago and spent a few days in a secret location in regional New South Wales. According to the media house, they were seen boarding their private jet in the central NSW town of Wagga Wagga on Wednesday morning destination Queensland after spending time with friends on a farm

They arrived in Brisbane, Queensland where they were officially received and welcome by Her Majesty's official representative in Australia Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove at the old government house. After signing the visitor's book, They proceeded to the lawn, where His Royal Highness inspected the Guard of Honour.

After meeting the public Their Royal Highness then visited the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital to learn about Juiced TV which is a TV show made by children, for other youngsters in the hospital. The aim of the show is to benefit their health and well-being while in hospital. They also met with Abi Head, a 13 -year-old Juiced TV star and founder of Juiced TV and Philippa Russell, who founded the TV station and is the 2018 Queensland Australian of the Year Award winner.

Their Royal Highness attended a pre- opening reception hosted by the Governor-General Sir Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove. They met and spoke with various official representatives of Commonwealth nations as well as Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate (L) and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk

They also met with Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of the Kingdom of Tonga.

After the Commonwealth service and reception which she attended with the senior members of the Royal family accompanying Her Majesty the Queen the previous day on March 12th, HRH the Duchess met with staff and student of Barn Croft Primary School for a Commonwealth Big Lunch event on March 13th.

The Big Lunch is an initiative all about bringing people together to share food and friendship and meet new people. Her Royal Highness is its Patron, and according to Clarence House has attended a number of events in support of the project including a Big Lunch street party in honour of The Queen’s 90th birthday.

While at the school, she met children taking part in different Commonwealth themed activities including decorating special biscuits, baking bread, and making bracelets. Before departing, she gave the school cake to share amongst the staff and students in honor of CommonWealth Day.

Commonwealth Big Lunches are part of the official celebrations leading up to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London, from Commonwealth Day on 12th March until 22nd April.

Last year 9.3m people took part in The Big Lunch across the UK at over 96,000 events. The initiative was started in 2009 by The Eden Project and consisted of a very simple idea to get people to sit and have lunch with their neighbours on one day each year.

Later The Duchess attended the first eventing events at Cheltenham Festival. She congratulated the Queen Mother Champion Chase winning jockey Nde Boinville.

Yesterday was CommonWealth Day, an annual opportunity to celebrate together the links amongst the 53 communities across the world. This day starts its celebrations with a church service at the Westminister Chapel in the presence of the Head of the CommonWealth and after a reception at Marlborough House.

This year's theme is 'Towards a Common Future' which emphasizes how the Commonwealth can address global challenges and work to create a better future for all citizens through sub-themes of sustainability, safety, prosperity and fairness.

Her Majesty as Head of the Commonwealth led the celebrations. The service is the largest annual inter-faith gathering in the UK and from around the Commonwealth come together to celebrate the day.
