Earlier Today(Aussie Time), Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall arrived in Australia to represent Her Majesty the Queen during the at the opening of the XXI Commonwealth Games, reading out Her Majesty's customary message, which calls on athletes to come together in the spirit of friendly competition and a few days of engagements on tour of the country down-under
They arrived in Brisbane, Queensland where they were officially received and welcome by Her Majesty's official representative in Australia Governor General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove at the old government house. After signing the visitor's book, They proceeded to the lawn, where His Royal Highness inspected the Guard of Honour.

Commonwealth Pre games reception:
Their Royal Highness attended a pre- opening reception hosted by the Governor-General Sir Cosgrove and his wife Lady Cosgrove. They met and spoke with various official representatives of Commonwealth nations as well as Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate (L) and Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk
They also met with Their Majesties King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u of the Kingdom of Tonga.
Opening Ceremony:
They later arrived at the Carrara Stadium ready for the official opening of the Commonwealth Games 2018 were The Prince of Wales will officially open the games on behalf of the Head of the Commonwealth Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth.

After meeting the public Their Royal Highness then visited the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital to learn about Juiced TV which is a TV show made by children, for other youngsters in the hospital. The aim of the show is to benefit their health and well-being while in hospital.
